Learning to live in Gratitude

The practice of Gratitude bestows many benefits, Anger, arrogance, and jealousy melt in its embrace. Fear and defensiveness dissolve. Gratitude diminishes barriers to love and evokes happiness, keeping alive what has meaning for us.

Gratitude can change our lives because it helps us to appreciate what we do have instead of what we do not have.When we express gratitude our brain releases dopamine and seritonin the two crucial neurotransmitters responsible for our emotions and they make us feel good. They enhance our mood immediately, making us feel happy from the inside.There are proven benefits to gratitude such as reduces stress, improves sleep quality, enhances relationships, reduces loneliness, and increases happiness.

Most people have an instinctive understanding of what gratitude is, but it can be difficult to define. Is it an emotion? A virtue? Our behavior? The truth is it is all three. It has been named ¨The Mother of all Virtues¨ because it encourages the development of other virtues such as patience, humility, and wisdom. Studies have examined the possible connections between gratitude and various elements of psychological well being. In general , more grateful people where discovered to be less materialistic, happier, more satisfied with their lives, and less likely to suffer from burn out.

Ways we can start our journey of living in gratitude:

  • Do not be picky and complain, appreciate everything
  • Keep a gratitude journal
  • Give thanks even for the struggles in our lives
  • Morning gratitude session

Overall to Live in Gratitude is a daily choice that we can make for ourselves because we want to be the best versions of ourselves.

Be thankful

Be thankful that you do not already have everything that you desire,if you did, what would you have to look forward to?

Be thankful when you do not know something ,because it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you have the opportunity to grow.

Be thankful for your limitations. Because they give you the opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge. Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you are tired and weary. Because that means that you made a difference.

It is easy to be thankfull for the good things. A life of rich folfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the set backs.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.
