Assassins of Flavor Proudly presents: Tom and Jerry

It was a dark and stormy night but we were craving a good pizza so our adventure begins here. My husband and I were driving around in the rain on this dark and stormy night trying to locate a restaurant that was actually open and wasn’t scary.

We were not having the best of luck actually. Google did great at giving us directions to the restaurants but was not so great at letting us know they were closed.

There we were driving around in the rain from one restaurant location to the next and they were all closed at 8:00. We finally did wise up and began to call ahead to the restaurants and we got lucky with Tom and Jerry Pizzeria.

The woman who answered the phone reassured us that they were open so we typed in the address Via Giovanni Cillo, 7 , 83030 Pietradefusi AV into Waze and started on our way.

The crazy part is the entire drive there was like something out of a horror movie. We were following Waze and it had us continuously driving down these narrow roads in the woods.

You know the kind of roads that just look like once you go down that road you may never come back? Those were the exact roads we were on in this night.

We finally make it to the restaurant and it was like a beacon of light in the dark. They had a big bright sign with the cartoon characters Tom and Jerry that shined bright and guided us into the door.

Once inside we liked the vibe of the place. There was a cozy little fire going in the fireplace and by this point we were starving so we sat inside instead of taking the pizza home.

We were in our pajamas basically and we no longer cared. We ordered our pizza and had a beer sat at a table next to the fireplace and talked with the owners Katia and Susanna while we waited.

They were both very adorable and sweet. Their restaurant was clean and on point. While the service was warm and friendly.

Can I just say that they SHATTERED any expectations we might have had and gave us one of the most delicious pizza’s that we have ever had! Honest to God the pizza was unbelievably delicious!

If you are looking for food cooked from traditional ingredients made locally from that area Tom and Jerry’s is for you. The restaurant is cozy and inviting. You do not have to stress about what to wear.

My pictures give it no justice, like I said we came unprepared and were surprised in a awesome way with how good their pizza was.

Look at the crust how well they did making the dough and then cooking it! The woman we were speaking with us and said that they just use the water from there and flour!

The crust was perfection with how crunchy yet chewy it was . The sauce was everything, the taste and textures blended together to make a symphony of flavors in your mouth without the sauce making the crust soggy.

Katia is the pizza maker and Susanna the is the chef. They were both adorable, warm and friendly and such a breath of fresh air.

After searching for a good pizza we ended up finding one of the best pizza’s we have ever had unexpectedly. Sometimes we do find hidden treasures when we go on an adventure.

If you are ever in Southern Italy and find yourself in the Dentecane are I urge you to follow the narrow roads through the woods to a cozy little pizzeria called Tom and Jerry.
